"Dessert" by Flickr user Keltron {so far behind, I'm in front of me!}
Here at Las Idiomas Diner, we only serve one dessert: THE INCREDIBLE IDIOMA!
This dessert is unique, because not only does it taste great, but it is also full of information and advice about the future! Let's listen to what it has to say...
"One can conclude that the brain learns a language better, when the individual studies it in a land where the language is spoken. By studying languages abroad, one is placed in a situation that is ripe for encounters, feelings, and opportunities that promote an understanding and appreciation for a language that cannot be replicated by learning the language in a land where the language is not spoken by many people. A computer program can teach one about the proper syntax, grammatical rules, and even the origin of certain words of a language, but it cannot share certain emotions, like the emotion one feels when he/she makes friendships by speaking in his/her newly learned language. For this very reason, it is crucial for colleges, universities, and organizations to promote study abroad programs that allow individuals to learn to speak a completely new language. It is necessary, even compulsory, for all individuals to be able to experience something like learning a new language among individuals who speak the language already. While learning the language, one may even learn some history behind the blossoming of the language and the culture that made the language theirs. After learning so much about the language, the individual will feel a sense of accomplishment that will fuel his thirst for even more knowledge. Thus, learning a language has positive implications on the life of an individual as a whole. Learning a language is crucial for one’s overall growth, and everyone should have the opportunity to study a language abroad. Further research can be done to learn more about exactly how a brain learns a language. The brain is a complex instrument of our bodies, and one can never know everything about the brain. It would be interesting to consider other factors, other than the growth of myelin, that coincide with the learning of languages."
Well that was certainly interesting! Want to know more? Try visiting our other branches!
